Take Home Pay Calculator

Estimate your take-home pay after taxes and deductions. Because tax rules differ by country, state and personal situation, this tool uses a deduction percentage that you control rather than built-in tax tables.

How to use the Take Home Pay Calculator

Enter your gross annual (or monthly) salary.

Enter your estimated total deduction rate — this should cover income tax, social security and any other mandatory withholding for your situation.

The calculator shows your estimated net salary per year, month, week and day.

Take-Home Pay Formula

Net pay = Gross pay × (1 − Deduction rate)

This is a simplified estimate. Real tax systems use progressive brackets, allowances and credits that this generic formula does not model.

Example

  • 1.Gross annual salary: $60,000
  • 2.Estimated deduction rate: 25%
  • 3.Net pay = $60,000 × (1 − 0.25) = $45,000 per year
  • 4.Net monthly pay ≈ $3,750

Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently asked questions about the Take Home Pay Calculator

Why doesn't this calculator ask for my country?+

Tax rules vary enormously between countries, states and even municipalities, and change frequently. Rather than show you an inaccurate number based on outdated tax tables, we let you enter the deduction rate that applies to you — for example, from a recent payslip.

Where can I find my real deduction rate?+

Check a recent payslip: divide your total deductions by your gross pay for that period. That gives you an accurate percentage to use here.

Is this financial or tax advice?+

No. This tool provides a simple estimate for planning purposes only. For accurate figures, consult your payslip, employer or a qualified tax professional.
